My laptop G505 59379534 has become horribly slow. In fact it is so right from beginning when I purchased six months back. Around 50 GB of data consisting of audio, video files are stored in it. It takes atleast 2 to 3 minutes to open even a small file of 5 Mb size. Also I have installed all latest drivers from AMD site. Also I am using Kapersky internet security 2014 and it is up to date. No virus or spyware is detected when I run full scan. Can I improve it's speed and if so how.

I bought my G505s in August 2013 and I'm only noticing now that it's been running pretty hot.I've been using several different programs to try to see and compare the temperatures of the quad core CPUs. I've also looked in many different fourm communities and have found this is not at all like the common overheating problems with the G505s. Others have experienced other heating problems when they play games, as their cores go to around 70C to 80C
'How so,' you ask?Details and actions I've taken:
1. My temperatures soar to above 80C each when idle, and over 100 when doing light work.
2. BIOS and drivers have all been updated to the latest versions available for Windows 8.1 as per the Lenovo website.
3. I have never played games on the laptop, so I know the overheating is not because something related to that.
4. I cleaned my computer yesterday, although there was hardly any dust build up.
My temperature readings come from speccy, and hwmonitor.

I am getting frequently the message ' Catalyst control center has stopped working' on my laptop. My laptop is G505(59379534) with win 8.1 64 bit os. I learnt that updating to latest catalyst drivers from AMD site may solve this problem. But how can I locate specific driver suited to my laptop in AMD site for downloading. Also today morning the message ' Display driver stopped and it was recovered successfully' was flashed in laptop. So I think latest display driver is also needed. Whether I have to install any updates for solving above problems if so how to identify required drivers for downloading.

My lenovo G505 recently had to be reformated because there was a blue screen that came up one day that said there was problem with my PC and the error was critical_service_error, something like that. So my dad had to reinstall windows 8 for me using a cd he had that didn't come with the computer I don't believe. So now for some reason my screen brightness isn't adjusting and it's driving me crazy! It's staying on full brightness which I hate! I tried changing it from the personalization screen and nothing happens.

I have a problem which does not persist on another machine with windows 7.
Lenovo connects to the internet with this modem, but then after sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes after half an hour, the modem loses conncetion, although its dedicated application does not indicate lost connection.

I have a X1 Carbon with Sierra EM7345 WWAN modem. It is all installed perfectly - drivers etc. But id does not recognize the SIM card. I have googled a bit and I can say that:
1) I have the drivers OK, I have the WWAN network adapter etc.
2) I have inserted the SIM card correctly
The SIM card works perferctly if I use the USB 3G stick instead. So the problem is not in the SIM card. I think there is some configuraiton of the Sierra modem which should be done - to switch to 3G/2G or something.

For the past two days LSC is alerting that Hardware scan has detected one or more hardware failures. The tests in which my laptop G505 59379534 is failing are given as Targeted read and smart short self test. Also against local connection test warning is shown. My OS is windows 8.1. Only couple of days back I have installed HP2545 printer on my PC. I do not know wheher this has something to do with present status of laptop. Also I am using Kaspersky internet security 2014. I am worried whether this alert message points to any serious impending problem for my laptop. Laptop is almost 9 months old. It is still under warranty.

Because G510 wasn't really Windows 7 compatible, I decided to upgrade to Windows 8.1. But after the upgrade, there's no more Bluetooth. When I run Bluetooth setup from drivers DVD, it doesn't install because it can't find required device. Also at tjhe Device Manager, it doesn't show anything related to Bluetooth.
What happened to Bluetooth and how can I get it back?

Came with Win7 Home premium x64
The Win7 that it came with also had lenovo energy management through which I could toggle the WLAN and bluetooth on and off. Since I never used the bluetooth, I turned it off via energy mgmt.
Also interestingly, when I was running Win7 I had it dual boot with Ubuntu. And if my Bluetooth was turned off via EM from win7.. bluetooth wouldn't be recognised in ubuntu and there was no way of turning it back on.. I had to boot back into win7 and turn it on via EM and boot back into ubuntu.
Recently I updated to Win8.1 but hadn't turned on the bluetooth before doing so. In Win8.1 the bluetooth device is not recognised anywhere.not in PC settings(metro UI), not even in device manager. I tried to install the energy management for 8.1 from the support site but it was extremely buggy and didnt find any option to turn on bluetooth. The old EM didnt install properly in comaptibilty mode.
In ubuntu now (dual boot with win8.1) its still the same. Bluetooth not regonised just as before.
I cannot go back to win7 now. There is no proper EM for win8.1. There is no option in BIOS regarding bluetooth. How do i turn on the bluetooth adapter?

I am trying to connect my G505s to my Bose wireless speaker via Bluetooth. I am not able to find anything relating to Bluetooth in my Device Manager and no Bluetooth drivers. The Bluetooth symbol does not appear in my Windows Taskbar as I've seen it on other PCs. I am running Windows 8.1.
Things I have done so far:
- I downloaded the Atheros,Broadcom driver for Windows 8.1 (8.0.1.306/12.0.0.7850) from the Lenovo website. When I try to install it I am told that there are no valid drivers to be installed.
-I followed the instructions from Windows which said to go into Settings > Change PC Settings > PC & Devices and ensure that Bluetooth is there. Microsoft states that Bluetooth capable computers should have a Bluetooth settings page in here. I don't have one.
- From some reading online I came across instructions to run services.msc and change the Bluetooth settings in there. I followed these instructions and didn't have any luck. All of the Bluetooth listings in here state that Bluetooth is running.
- Made sure that my computer setting to locate other devices is enabled.
I'm not really sure if this computer is Bluetooth ready or not. If it isn't, I'm not sure why there are Bluetooth things 'running' in services.msc though..

it appears my windows 7 32bit thinkpad x200 has question marks at bluetooth adapters in device manager.
I have installed the drivers that are available on the website of lenovo producer, but no change is observable.
The device seems to work well, that is share and access files with android smartphone, and use android's internet, but when it comes to sharing internet with the smartphone, there is no transmission. I wonder if broken drivers could be the cause.

Just received my Thinkpad W520 4270 CTO with bluetooth installed. It was a DOS workstation that I installed Win 7 x64 Ultimate on and I finally got all the drivers installed but the bluetooth software says there is no BT device connected to my laptop. I checked the BIOS settings and confirmed the BT is enabled. I even disabled it, saved, then enabled it to toggle. Hitting the Fn+5 combo doesn't trigger the light or any 'Found New Hardware.' When the laptop first boots up the BT light flashes along with the wifi light and the HDD activity light. I haven't yet been able to load another OS, but I'm downloading Arch Linux and BackTrack 5 to test to see it's possibly an OS issue.
I realize the sticky about the 'do not update the bluetooth drivers' but I'm not getting my bluetooth to work at all, not even being recognized by the OS as an 'unknown device.'

I have a problem with driver installation on my G510 notebook with Windows 7. I've installed all drivers, and only two had left: 'Unknown Device' and 'PCI Simple Communications Device'. After installing the Intel Power Management Engine, the 'Unknown Device' had disappear (installed successful), but second one is still not installed. VendorID (8086) and DeviceID (8C3A) suggests, that this is Intel Power Management, but this driver is already installed.
I tried to install different versions of this driver (even for Win8), but nothing changed.

Every 5 to 10 minutes after startup during a small period the laptop returns a blue screen with this message DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE.
It’s so devastating to have to witness this every time again. I thought I bought a reliable laptop but now I have doubts. What can I do to stop this. I have looked through the other messages but I can’t find the right solution for my problem.

I've just received my brand new Lenovo G510 and installed Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit onto it.Most of the drivers from the attached CD installed without any problems (though I was quite surprised that no newer versions were available on the Support wrbpage) but I can't install audio driver.Apparently this series is equipped in either Conexant or Realtek audio chips and the provided setup application is desigend to detect the correct chip and run the appropriate driver installation program.
The problem is that setup is not working for me. All I receive is the notification 'This utility can not be used on this machine'. Since there are no 'orphan' audio devices in the Device Manager, I can't really tell which audio chipset is installed in my machine. I don't want to install both dirvers as it may just cause confilcts.How can I say which audio chipset is installed and install the correct driver?

I bought this laptop for my son to use and like many, he didn't care for Windows 8. So, I downloaded the drivers for the laptop and then did a clean install of Windows 7 Professional. I have been unable to find a driver that will work for the Network Controller. The drivers you can download on the Lenovo site do not work. This computer is useless to him unless we can get the wireless working.

I just bought Lenovo Ideapad S110 netbook. It already has MeeGoo OS installed but I want to install Windows 7 32 bit. So I made a bootable usb using Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool and tried to install Windows 7 using my usb. However I have an error 'No CD/DVD driver found' I have tried all three usb slots but there still is that problem. All three slots are USB 2.0.

I just updated my G780 to Windows 8.1 this morning. every time I boot up the computer, I get an Error message stating' Dolby Advanced Audio - Unable to start the Dolby Audio driver. Please restart the computer or reinstall the driver if the problem persists. I have restrtaed the computer and I do not know where the driver is for this or where to install it. While trying to install Intel Rapid Storage Technology(IRST) Driver on my Lenovo G560 Windows 7 64bit OS it is not able to install and gives me some error regarding hardware not match or etc. error then i came to know that to install AHCI driver i have to change in BIOS Sata controller mode from 'Compatible' to 'AHCI' i tried so and then restart the system but it gives BLUE SCREEN error while windows startup logo and restart again, any solution to use Rapid Storage Technology on G560 and actually this driver was installed when i purchased the new laptop but after certain format and fresh windows installation its no more able to install, how to install it back.....

I have an Inspiron 1720. When I purchased the laptop, it was on Windows Vista but with all of the head aches I've been getting while using Vista, I decided to switch back to XP. I got almost all drivers for my laptop except for the Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus driver.
A friend of mine gave me a laptop he built (an old Lenovo X220), installed with Gnome. I need MS Office for work and figured the easiest way to get it would be to install Windows. I clean installed Windows 7 32, which went fine. However, I can't get my wireless to work.
When I go to Device Manager, my network adapter seems fine (it is an Intel(R) 82579V Gigabit Network). However, there are exclamation marks by the Network Controller and indeed by all other devices listed under 'Other devices'. I have tried installing and re-installing drivers from both the Lenovo and Intel websites and have used all of their diagnostic tools, but with no luck. I know the problem isn't hardware failure, because the wifi on the laptop was working fine when it was running Linux. So I'm beginning to feel stuck.
If anyone can provide any help I'd be extremely grateful!
